The Art of Bottles and Bottle Caps

The Art of  Bottles and Bottle Caps

Old Picket Fence + Wash out paint + your favorite drink bottle caps + adhesive = Cool Wall Decor.

What will you do with all those bottle caps collecting in the corner of your bar top? If you're like me, I prefer to get sodas and beers in the glass bottle.

So what do you do with the bottles and the caps after you've consumed its contents? Do you simply toss them in the trash or recycling bin? Or do you find ways to reuse them around your house? Well you know what we do with them and we'd like to share some neat ideas for a beer crafting project.

So every week, we will try to post a cool crafting ideas using bottles and bottle caps.  So this week's crafting idea:

DRINK IT, WEAR IT, & CREATE A BRACELET HOLDER!

So there's so much going on here! You can make bracelets with you bottle caps by punching holes to the sides and turning them into beads or a focal item.

Then take the bottle and wrapped it with a rope, twine, or yarns and create a holder for the bracelet you just made. Or hang a heart on it to make it a decor and/or add water in the bottle and place some flowers, now it's also a vase!

Drink it and Wear it Tribute to my Jakob

Drink it and Wear it Collection! Because it's fun and environmentally responsible.

It was just a fun idea to showcase my favorite drink as an accessory. It was unique and it was recycling. My view of recycling is reusing items and giving them new purpose. And I had my aha moment on repurposing beer caps at a friend's bar. I came back wearing a cap earring that I made and it was a hit! And then my friends thought it was cool and wanted their own sets or for a gift. So I ran with it and added it to my handmade jewelry line. At first, it was just to make extra money but now it's about something much more important.

Having kids changes your priorities. My 6-year-old son has a great-grandmother who lives on the other side of the world. He sees her once every four years or so because it's expensive to travel over the ocean. He saw her when he was barely 1 and last year before he turned 5.  My goal is to take my son Jakob to see his great-grandmother as much as I can afford in hopes that he will remember her and have as much exposure to his Filipino Culture.

What keeps me motivated to stay creative and innovative?

A child's mind is full of wonders and curiosities. If we, as adults, would open our imagination as if we were kids once more, we will never run out of ideas. I think as we grow older, we sometimes forget how to look at our choices both good and bad. Sometimes the choices you deem bad are not so bad after all. We tend to focus on the easy temporary solutions than the long lasting solutions.

My son shows his brilliance through his happy thoughts and simple ideas. His number 1 goal every day is to be able to wake up and get up with his mommy and daddy, to cruise through school and get his rewards, to go home and play, and to sleep knowing both his parents are home as well. He remembers people through his travels and he talks about them as if he is definitely sure that he will see them again very soon. He has a big heart who love to give hugs and kisses. He forgives easily and learns quickly. He reminds me that as adults, we need to worry less, forgive more and love always.

So as a tribute to my son and the happiness of children, I dedicate a part of my current muse, as a jewelry artist to his travels.

Visit my Facebook Page to view my other Jewelry Collection. I also post pictures of the craft shows and events that I attend. Keep up with me and updates on Jakob's latest travel.
